Print Artwork & Style Reference Guidelines
You do not need a perfect tech pack to start, but clearer artwork files, reference photos, or sample images help Alohamiss review print scale, fabric compatibility, construction risk, and sample feasibility faster.
Best file types
AI, PSD, PDF, high-resolution PNG, and high-resolution JPG files are preferred because they provide clearer scale, color, and editing information.
Reference images
If you only have Pinterest references, AI-generated images, brand mood images, or sketches, upload them first for review and next-step advice.
Repeat patterns
For all-over prints, seamless repeat files are ideal. Border prints and placement prints need extra garment placement review.
What Alohamiss checks in your artwork
A print file can look strong on screen but still fail when it becomes a long dress, abaya, kaftan, or resort maxi. The first review checks whether the artwork can be printed clearly, whether the scale fits the garment direction, and whether the motif will be cut awkwardly by seams, sleeves, neckline, or hem.
All-over prints need repeat continuity. Placement prints need front, back, sleeve, opening, and hem review. Border prints need careful planning because the garment pattern can change how the border appears after cutting and sewing.
Color direction also matters. Dark areas may require a more stable fabric and print method. Pale artwork on thin fabric can become transparent. The sample should confirm print clarity, color expectation, fabric hand feel, and finished garment effect before bulk production.
Scale is usually the first hidden problem. A motif that looks balanced in a square image may become too large on a sleeve or too small on a long maxi body. When a brand submits artwork, the factory should review the requested style or reference cut at real garment scale instead of judging only the digital file.
For private label projects, artwork review should also consider final presentation. If a brand needs labels, hangtags, packaging, or a matching collection story, the print direction should support those retail details. A sample is stronger when artwork, garment shape, fabric, and brand finishing are reviewed together.
Artwork review checklist
- File type and resolution
- Repeat quality and motif scale
- All-over, border, or placement print direction
- Fabric compatibility, opacity, and color risk
- Print placement on requested style or reference cut
- Private label and packaging needs
What to send in the first inquiry
- Your print artwork, AI image, reference image, or file link
- Target product type: abaya / robe style, modest dress, kaftan, resort dress, boho dress, or not sure
- Style reference, sample photo, drawing, or tech pack if you have one
- Estimated quantity and whether this is sample only or bulk planning
- Country, target market, size range, and fabric preference
- Private label needs such as labels, hangtags, or packaging
Upload what you have
You can start with imperfect information. The purpose of the first review is to decide whether your file can be used directly, needs adjustment, needs repeat work, or should be recreated before sampling.
If you are not sure which style, fabric, or printing method is best, choose Not sure, need suggestion in the inquiry form. Alohamiss can recommend a practical direction based on your artwork and target order.
If you only have a mood image, describe what should be preserved: color palette, motif type, print density, border placement, or overall feeling. This helps separate design inspiration from production requirements and reduces misunderstandings before the sample is quoted.
Artwork file questions
Can I upload an AI-generated print image?
Yes. AI artwork can be reviewed, but it may need resolution, repeat, scale, and placement checks before it is production-ready.
Do I need a seamless repeat file?
A seamless repeat is ideal for all-over prints. If you only have a reference image, upload it first and Alohamiss can advise whether it needs to be recreated.
What if I do not know the print placement yet?
Choose Not sure, need suggestion in the form. Alohamiss can review whether your artwork is better for all-over print, border print, or placement print.
